Canoeing and city life are two concepts not commonly linked to each other. Otto Van De Steene and Thomas Weyn designed a foldable canoe, that can be easily launched onto water. Thanks to critical innovations in material and design, it is suited for urban adventures as well as for exploring the wild outdoors. The ONAK kickstarter campaign has still two days to go, before it closes.

The lightweight canoe  – 13 kilograms – can carry more than 164 kg, and is no bigger than 119 x 38 x 25 centimeters when folded, and can be assembled in only 10 minutes. Thanks to the thermo-formable honeycomb‐curvTM composite, the material is much stronger than normal polypropylene, and it can even go through 3 cm thick ice. Moreover, ONAK managed to remove virtually the whole framework to keep the weight down as much as possible.
