Town apartments, in Seoul’s suburbs, in the countryside, for holidays and a pavilion, among the ones recently published on Domusweb, to recount the contemporary Korean architecture.

– Introduced over ten years ago in Korea, the “glamping” concept fuses nature, ecological values, comfort and glamourous design. ArchiWorkshop reinterprets the formula in the pinewoods near Seoul.

– The Korean architectural practice YOAP designed a small mixed-use building with five separate rental housing unit, a two-story owner’s house and a retail space on the ground floor.

– Using multilayered terrace platforms, just like in town squares, Jo Jinman Architects designed a house for a three generation family of eight people, that required private spaces and pleasant views.

– Four traditional Korean houses in the heart of Seoul become a multi-purpouse space hosting art events and a café, mixing new and old materials and tastes.

– Near a beautiful rock found on site, this house overlooking the Northern Han River in Korea has been conceived like a playground and like a stage to observe the landscape, the rock and the forest.

– B.U.S Architecture drew inspiration from the classic arcade game Pac-Man to design a variety of space and function for this house in a Korean rural area, completely integrated into its neighbourhood

– OBBA designed a temporary pavilion, floating in a garden in Yongin-si, Korea, as a shelter that alters the ordinary landscape offering a new kind of repose and contemplation.

– In a residential area in Gwanggyo New Town, Korea, AND proposes an apartment building with a strong identity, which differs from the monotonous context.

– Praud’s design for the Leaning House, a house with an office space in South Korea, is part of their theoretical experiment “Topology & Typology” – based on Anthony Vidler’s theory on typology – that tries to find out the harmony between the architectural form and the system of the building.

– Atelier Chang designed five white, sculptural buildings that rest on a cliff of the southern coast in Geoje Island, South Korea. The white walls fold in themselves to create a private ocean view from each house of the resort.
