Carbon Fiber Chair

Made entirely of carbon fiber, the Carbon Fiber Chair designed by Michael Young for Coalesse combines materiality with technology to express its structural form and 21st century craft.

Designed by Hong Kong based designer Michael Young, the Carbon Fiber Chair combines ultra-lightness with exceptional performance: the chair weighs less than 2.3 kg and can support 136 kg.

The unique material allows for an array of colors and bespoke surfaces applications. Its endless mono-material design is adaptable to both for indoor and outdoor settings.

As Michael Young states: "The chair’s structure and form was developed as a result of working with a factory that is exceptional in creating high performance bicycles. This technology is ideal for applying to the development of an exceedingly lightweight stacking chair. We wanted to design a carbon fiber chair that is truly functional and ergonomic. The material is used economically and has been designed following rigorous technical guidelines."

The Carbon Fiber Chair has been presented by Coalesse on the occasion of Milan Design Week.
